Flying in South Africa on a CAA/FAA PPL

Anyone have recent experience of flying in South Africa on a CAA/FAA PPL? I'd like to go there for a few weeks and build some hours. I have the official guidance from the SA CAA on what is required for licence validation, but how complicated is it in practise and how long does it take? Any suggestions on clubs or schools that are familiar with renting to foreign licence holders?
