Duxford RV Bonus Day 16th July 2011

Duxford RV Bonus day 16th July 2011

If you fly an RV, come to Duxford on 16th July, meet your friends and get Bonus Day Discounts.

Duxford is home the Imperial War Museum and must be the premier destination for GA pilots in Europe. Most weekends through the flying season, although there are no guarantees, you are quite likely to see warbirds flying – Spitfire, Hurricane, Mustang, B17, Catalina and other rare types are based at Duxford.

The Bonus days offer great discounted prices: qualifying types of aircraft (or pilots) will enjoy half-price landing fees and much reduced museum admission. Single or twin can land for £7; museum entry is £7 for most adults and children come in free. All RV aircraft qualify on 16th July.

There’s lots to see, the £25+ million ‘AirSpace’ project, the American Air Museum and four hangars packed with vintage aircraft, many in flying order – really a ‘must-see.’

Don't fly an RV or can't make the 16th July? There's one more Bonus Day event for 2011 -- for all types of aircraft:
September 10th: AOPA Bonus Day - for AOPA members and non-members. Presentations from Cliff Whittaker CAA on the minefield that is flightcrew licensing; plus AOPA presentations and a chance to ask you questions and meet AOPA.

As well as Bonus Days, Duxford welcomes FLY-INs. Call the tower for discount details.

Further information about the Bonus Days and information for fly-in visitors can be found on the web site :
http://www.duxford.iwm.org.uk and go to the flying page, then click on the link to Bonus Days (also airfield information link).

The airfield team will be delighted to hear from forumites (call for PPR, briefing and broad slot time 01223 833376) and to see you on the day - call asap as the popular slot times get booked up in advance.

Don't RV drivers frequent this forum?

Anyway, some news is that if RV visitors don't want to go into the museum (or only hfor less than 2 hours), and prefer to look at the other RVs and spend their time in the briefing room, then there will be no museum entry charge to pay. This is discounted anyway on Bonus Days, as is the landing fee.

The slot bookings are now underway. Dont delay, call soon to book yours 01223 833376 (please avoid calling Thurs -Sun 7-10 July, as we will be very busy with Flying Legends) 01223 833376.

I could hope for a better weather forecast for tomorrow, but it does look as though there could be some windows. So fingers crossed -- and give us a call if you haven't yet booked your slot.
