Basel Alternatives

Hello,

We will be flying our passenger down to Basel, yet it seems there is no parking there. I also checked Zurich, and they are limited to a ground time fo 3 hours.

I also checked Bern, Switzeland, but they cant give me parking on the first day of the trip.

If someone is familliar with the area and flies there alot, what do you recommend doing?

Have you considered Freiburg, Germany? It is something linke a 30-45 min train ride, if I recall, but it has been several years since I've taken that train ride. I have been to the airfield recently. Very nice. Bus to the city from the road in front of the field every 20 mins or so.

I'm surprised about Zurich. Did you call them?

I was there last month and parked all day with no problems. That was on the main apron with no handling. I don't see any notamed restrictions, but they do have wip on the runway and ils. Other than the time to get fuel it was a trouble free stay.
