At the moment I am registered but there is no one between here (Prestwick) and Bruntingthorpe who needs a lift. If you know of any ex-aircrew twixt here and there who might not be aware of the Project, please let them know and I might be able to give them a nice day out.

Yep I can handle flights from the cambridge area in most types that would take anyones fancy -twins for those who prefer the comfort or would be a nice 40 min flight in a flexwing for those still adventurous enough!!

As usual, none from my neck of the woods. If it looks as if there will be a shortage, I could bimble over to Cambridge or Norwich - or even Big Gin Hill if it came to it.

Project Propeller - Wickenby - 11 June 2011

Project Propeller 2011 - Wickenby - 11 June 2011

We are continuing to receive a lot of veteran aircrew registrations and are looking for pilots to fly them in from the following airfields:

Elmsett, Thruxton, Wellesbourne, North Weald, Manston, Old Warden, Dunkeswell, Eaglescott, Lydd, Bournemouth, Carlisle, Blackbushe, Sherburn, Compton Abbas, Headcorn, Booker, Durham, Newquay, Marham, Hawarden, Shoreham, Seething, Sywell, Glasgow, Plymouth, Cranfield

If you could fly one or two of these WWII veterans into the event at Wickenby on June 11, please volunteer by registering on the website. You are guaranteed to have an interesting and worthwhile day out.

What a wonderful thing to do, I'll register and depending upon aeroplane availability could do a round trip from either Booker or Cranfield.

Wondering out loud, given the passage of time, aircrew who flew operationally in Korea will now mostly be over 80, and who flew in the Falklands will in many cases now be over 60, plus he significant operational flying at Suez was all flown by people aged now over 75. Should Project Propeller be expanding it's remit slightly?
