Cessna SVT

Any one experience the Cessna SVT upgrade? Is it worth it or just a gimmick?

SVT

Hi, I have quite a bit of time on the G1000 SVT in a range of aircraft including Cessna. I guess the worse thing you could say about it is that it could lead to overconfidence but if a pilot got caught out inadvertently, It could definately save your life. I have flown in Fjords going in to places like Narsarsuaq, Sondrestrom, Eggilstadir etc and I kid you not, what you see on the screen, is virtually the same apart from the computer generated images, is what you see outside. I have a few videos on you tube showing some SVT stuff in flight so well worth taking a look.
If money wasnt an option, then I would say 100% go for it, you will love it. If it wqas a choice between that or TKS, I would say go for the TKS as that would keep you flying if you got caught out.
Hope that helps.
