Question Please Help.... (quickly if possible)

Hi, first of all, sorry for the rush, but...:
I have a small issue. I was about to purchase a set of PPL stuff when I noticed that it doesnt come with Air Pilots Manuals 5 or 7. It comes with 1,2,3,4,6 and a Radio Telepony double CD pack. Will this do for me or do I need another book, APM 5? So, all it is really missing is Radio Navigation and Instrument flying.
Do I NEED this for my NPPL / PPL?

Also, I have come across a reduced price headset, would it be worth purchasing?

Thank you

Well I have done radio navigation and some basic instrument flying as part of my PPL so I guess you could do with it.

I dunno about the Brit PPL but we have to do 5 hours of instrument flying, this is compass turns and unsual attitudes, we did not ahve to do any Radio Nav stuff, that is covered in your IR training (should you do it) post PPL.

Your own headset is a good idea, sometime school headsets can be a bit crappy, make sure its a good one though, do some research. if you can plug it in and try it out, especially with the engine running, listen to ATIS, do a radio check and make sure the Mic is ok.

If these books are second hand, check that Air Law is up to date.
