IMC renewals
Firstly - apologies if this subject has recently been 'aired' - I did use the search facility but couldn't seem to find an applicable reference .
I last revalidated my IMC in Feb 2005.
This 'ticket' would have run through 'til MArch 2007 if my memory serves me correct. ( 25 months ?)
Is there a 5 year rule ( similar to the requirements for the Group A rating -which step up a notch if you dont get re-validation in that time )..which at least gives me until Feb 2012 to re-validate.
With the recent EASA 'muddle' I dont want to find that I've lost the rating for good. - ...but fear I may have done ..
I hope this post makes sense !

For a period exceeding 5 years from the expiry
date of the rating, a candidate will be required to
carry out dual instruction, at the CFI’s discretion,
covering the IMC rating Course with an IMC rating
instructor, and pass the Initial IMC Rating Test with
an IMC rating examiner in a suitably equipped
aircraft. If the rating has expired by more than 10
years, then successful completion of the IMC
Ground Examination will also be required.

Group A has not existed for the past 11 years, and the old 5 and 10 year requirements died with it.
