Hotspot Circles

Looking at my VFR Guide updates, the entries for Manchester, Newcastle and West Wales all mention the arrival of "Hotspot Circles" on their runways. Anybody got any ideas what these are?

Aren't those places where lots of taxiways and runway intersections converge, and where pilots regularly take the wrong turn? So you need to pay extra attention?

Thanks for the replies. I had guessed that's what they were but hadn't seen it anywhere. It also threw me that West Wales had a Spotspot in view of the amount of traffic that is the norm there.

Instead of advertising they've got a problem, would an effort to cure the reasons be more appropriate?

Yeah, and while they wait to find funding to dig up/move a TWY, put up more signs, install stop bars etc etc, just letting the pilots get on with it without telling them about any potenial risk is the way to go........

And even if all other avenues (practical/possible etc etc) have been tried, and incidents still happen, no need to inform the pilots about any added risk at that point either right?

Genius......
