Got the first solo in this afternoon

Only another 36 hours to go!
Spring is definitely here!
Thanks to everyone at Fairoaks, especially Glen and Brian
Had to go back to the office afterwards
and it was soooo hard to keep the grin off my face. Driving back the sun was shining and "perfect day" was on the stereo - yes!

Well, since nobody else seems inclined, let me be the first to congratulate you. I do this from the standpoint of starting out on my PPL training more comprehensively, having just won a Scholarship that will send me out to S. Africa for 6 whole weeks!! I'd like to think if I posted up my solo completion, that someone would appreciate just how important it was to me and congratulate me!! So there you go. I trust you will now enjoy the rest of your flying all the more, and any tips you can give me to enable me to pass mine when the time comes will be very much appreciated too

Well done Saab Dastard!
I still remember mine, perfect day alright! Just about to turn right base I leaned forward to look past hang on Mike's not there! Bloody hell, I hope I am a real pilot like he said I was...
The best landing I have ever done. Didn't feel it, the wheels just started rumbling! Couldn't stop smiling all day!

Well done Mate.
I still remember singing at the top of my voice as I soared (so light without the fat bloke next to me). I remember catching a cessna in the circuit and standing on the brakes.....I know.....I then nearly had hysterics thinking about what I had just done.
Very few flying milestones will match what you have just done, enjoy it and don't let that smile go for several weeks.

Nice one matey!
If you can't get rid of the smile, try thinking about how much the rest of your PPL will cost!
WX permitting I should be a week or so behind you, so we'll have to compare grin sizes!

Looks like I picked the wrong week to quit pruning.

Thanks all, there is a wonderful camaraderie here.
I know that this is just the first step and there is still a lot of hard work to get the PPL - and even that is just the beginning.
But dammit I don't mind putting the work in 'cos I ENJOY it.
TikkiRo I hope your 6 weeks in SA is productive (if I didn't have a wife and 2 kids...) You'll get your licence before me, I'm sure.
G SXTY, just a week behind? You must be on Exercise 13F then
Now if only the weather would improve...
