I believed everyone yesterday... bizzards, wind and snow were going to pass over the region on Jan 1st.
So I let the handlers lock up my plaything in the hangar.
Look at it... clear blue sky, light winds and zero hangover... Dam!
Going down the pub, I trust others are out and about.

You're doing better than me. I got up, looked out the window at this lovely day, decided to have a shower then go flying.
After the shower I took another look - at low clouds whipping past at about 30 knots, and Southerly too (we have an E-W runway).
Gave up, spent the morning adding up last years logbook hours.

Oh bad luck chasps. risked leaving the plane out last night and flew in the weather 'window' to Compton Abbas fly-in........1 of 2 planes, sporty approach to 26 with 190/17... , and the other ALSO from White Waltham. Flew over Henstridge on way back to say 'Happy New Year' -they had about ten planes in. But crap trip back in IMC and severe turbulence...abandoned Popham....such is flying...So, you didn't really miss anything by staying on the ground

Sorry to gloat, but managed two trips out of North Weald, total 1 hr 30. Scattered cloud at about 2000 feet and good vis east over Suffolk, the only problem the low sun in your eyes on final for 20. Only saw one other aircraft, and London Info was so quiet it had turned into an informal chatline for helicopters. Happy New Year.
