Post Laws & regulations on using fields for runways

Is there an expert out there on the use of fields for runways? What is to stop you smoothing out a long field and landing and taking off providing of course it is safe sensible and doesn't annoy too many nimby's? Is the 28 day rule the key piece of guidance and does anybody really know the detail on the 28 day rule? I have just read the licenced / unlicenced question, but this issue doesn't come up

The 'full' details of the 28 Day rule can be found in Part 4 of the General Development Order at www.hmso.gov.uk/si/si1988/Uksi_19881813_en_4.htm

Thanks for both of those tips!

I have copied them both into a word document to read at leisure!

Hey, Pete! If it works out, let us all know where the field is
