Orlando hire ?

Any recommendations for an instructor and aircraft hire in the Orlando area to help me get up to speed with USA flying ?

Don't make the mistake I made to start with and rent all the heaps to save $5/hour.
I recommend Air Orlando at Executive Airport. A range of modern aircraft and superb service. www.flyairorlando.com 001 407 896 0721
DO.

Is there more "heaps" flying in USA compared to UK?

Intercepted,
Yes, there is a much better choice and bigger variation of heaps in the USA. Fortunately there is also a much better choice of good aircraft.

Aerobat,
Ask the school what their insurance excess is.
Ask the minimum daily rental. (2 hours at Air Orlando)
If you are under the minimum do you still get charged for the fuel you didn't use?

Speak to an instructor and check the aircraft.

Do they have their own maintenence?

Having car rental on the premises can be so handy.

Have fun there. I do every year.

DO.

Tailwheels at Winterhaven. Worth the visit. Nice G1000 aircraft, no hidden surcharges and nice people. Also next door to Jack Browns so you could do some float flying as well.

Try Sunstate (Flight Training and Accelerated Flight Training - Orlando, Kissimmee, Florida) at Kissimmee, modern Cessna fleet, including G1000's.

I would also recommend highly Air Orlando at KORL, and of their instructors, particularly Greer Rabiega if he is still there

Thanks for all the replies, I have initially booked a couple of hours with Air Orlando and then plan on going to Winter Haven later.
