Post Airspace Infringements

Hi All,

As a Thames Radar and Special VFR Controller, I've posted some information on the ATC Forum under "Airspace infringement at Luton" which you may find useful for future reference.

It's been a while since I've been around there, but:

How is the new Manchester-Liverpool TMA boundary Low Level Route working out?

I seem to remember reading that the Barton airspace had been also been rejigged. How's it working out?

Ditto for Woodford?

Sounds like the D&D cell is more accurate than a GPS... save £800 and just call 121.50

D&D are wonderful on a hazy day when you are temporarily uncertain of your position.

Did you hear about a senior member of the staff at a prison on an island just off Soton who called D&D and asked them to shoot down the helicopter which he thought was to close to the nick? They had to explain to him the D&D did NOT stand for DETECT & DESTROY as he thought.
