CAA Flight Plan Format
Does anyone know how I can put the CAA Flight Plan on my PC so I can fill it out and fax/e-mail it? The name of a piece of software or where I could download a flight plan would be handy.

I'm not from the UK so not sure what your plans look like.
You could try getting a fresh fligt plan form from a school or club, and scan it into your PC. Or create an Excel spreadsheet (not sure how your CAA views alterations or copies of their wonderful forms)
Anyway, some ideas if not solutions.

You can get a PDF version of the flightplan from the AIS website - http://www.ais.org.uk/CA48/CA48.htm . You can edit this within Adobe Acrobat Reader (free from www.adobe.com) and then fax/e-mail/print to you heart's content!

I'll add my support to Flyswift suggestions buy the Navbox pro product - it's easy to use and if you have a GPS and the connection cable (also supplied by them) you can upload your planned route into your GPS (well most models anyway) - mind you most VFR flight plans can be filed over the phone

Samson, I have looked at http://www.ais.org.uk/CA48/CA48.htm ,and like the idea of faxing from home however could not find a fax number, do you just fax to your local ATSU.

I have some old contact numbers for Flight Briefing units, worth checking them though as some dialing codes have since changed!
Fax your plan to the nearest unit, worth telephoning a few minutes later to make sure it has been received and accepted. I've found Manchester the most helpful! Remember, you need only speak to London Info to activate the plan and not the unit you faxed it to, and remember to cancel it if you cancel the flight!!

Just to clarify an earlier posting which listed a load of fax numbers....
If you need to fax a flight plan there are only 3 'parent ATSU' units and they are
Heathrow EGLLZPZX fax no 020 8 745 3491/2
Manchester EGCCZQZX fax no 0161 499 5504
Scottish EGPXYFYX fax no 01292 671048
Which one you need to use depends upon your intended departure point. There is a map in the Safety Sense leaflet which can be found at http://www.srg.caa.co.uk/includes/ga/20aleafl.pdf
