TIGER MOTH please help
I need to find someone who will take my farther flying in a tiger moth. He is 65 and has always wanted to fly in a moth. He was a pilot in the RAF for 40 years and I am trying to find someone in the south of the UK that is up to the job.
Must be able to do some aroes the money is not a problem but I would like to find someone who would be a good host for my father. He has not flown in about 6 or 7 years now apart from with me a few times.
If anyone can help or know of a flying club that can help please let me know.

Well, does the Tiger Club sound like the right sort of place?
Headcorn's the place, near Maidstone, and I was there just yesterday, getting the gen on flying Tigers.
My host for the few hours I was there was the lady behind the desk and she was very hospitable and knowledgeble - I don't know if she flies 'em but then again there's never really a problem finding hospitable people in GA.
I'm sure they're your people, I guess it depends wether Headcorn is handy for you?

James Black's company Avia Special operates Tiger Moths at White Waltham, and also at Stapleford, Leicester, Sywell etc. at various points during the summer.
The aircraft are skippered by CPLs/instructors with lots of taildragger and aerobatic time. Your father would have to fly front seat, but could still do most of the flying and lob in a quick wingover, loop or whatever, weather and strakes permitting. I might be the oil-spattered person who straps him in and swings the prop (but otherwise I have no connection with the company: I just do a bit of prop swinging and meet and greeting for them in return for a bit of free dual on positioning flights). Avia Special website is www.aviaspecial.com

The de Havilland Moth Club are holding a charity flying weekend at Old Warden on the 23/24 June. We'll be flying people for 55 quid and all the money goes to charity, predominantly children's medical charities.

I would say Cambridge Flying Group but thats not exactly in the south, although it has the best rates ( about £100 an hour with instruction) and would probably do aeros too.
Apart from that either the Tiger Club at Headcorn or the Moths at White Waltham seem the best option.
