Thumbs up Guernsey Flight

Hoping to go to Guernsey this weekend in a PA-28 with some friends. Flying from good old Biggin, wondering if anybody had any tips. Also if weather in Guernsey is no good was wondering if anybody had any suggestions of good places to visit, max flying time 2 hours each way. Thanks in advance.

We went from LFPD to Alderney last Saturday. Great weather, Gernsey ATC was really helpful, vectoring us around the La Hague Nuke Power plant new Prohibited Area (they have got missiles there). . .. .Come visit LFPD on your way (15 minutes flight SE from Deauville where you can clear customs. we've got a CAP10, a Tiger Moth and A GREAT CLUBHOUSE!

Guernsey is strictly ppo at the moment due to waterlogging restricting parking. so make sure you telephone them first.

Guernsey is nice but if you're going in that direction, either go to Alderney instead or at least stop off there on the way.. .. .Alderney is a beautiful island about three miles by a mile and populated by around 2000 of the nicest people you could hope to find anywhere.. .. .Because of the size of the island, you do not need to hire a car and can walk into town and to the seaside. If you want a lovely restaurant, I would suggest the Old Barn at Longis Bay they do a great Sunday Lunch buffet thing. The food is very nice and relatively inexpensive for what it is.. .. .Enjoy.. .. .Julian
