I've been reading the autobiography of a sea Captain who during his career navigated Hovercraft across the Channel. This got me thinking, (which doesn't happen very often either!)
Did a Hovercraft Captain hold a Pilots License, as his craft flew over the water; or did he hold a Mariners ticket as his craft was nearer the water than the sky?
Could you get a PPL(Ho)? <img src="smile.gif" border="0">

If my memory serves me correctly, the first commercial hovercraft drivers on the Channel crossing held Pilots licenses and Captains tickets.. .I suspect there is a special licence now though.
