Post new US licence

The FAA have decided to issue a light category Sport pilot licence, with reduced medical requirements.. .This appears to be similar to the recently proposed CAA light licence.

Comments I've seen on a US website speak of a proposed max take off weight limit for this restricted licence of a very specific 1,232 lbs. Very few traditional GA 2-seaters would be under that; the basic 7AC Champ just makes it @ 1220 auw, but even the 11AC Chief @ 1250lbs would not qualify. Cessna 150s etc would be way over. I hope there's nothing like that in the small-print of the UK proposals! <img src="eek.gif" border="0"> . .Perhaps the US proposal is for microlights? . .Slip
