JAA PPL skills tester around Salisbury
Anyone know of an examiner in, or around, the Salisbury area who could do my JAA PPL Skills Test?
Why? I'm flying on a foreign licence and want to convert so have to do the JAA skills test.I have the use of a C152 and could fly the examiner from Old Sarum to do the test and therefore not have to hire an aircraft from a club.
Any suggestions much appreciated?

gijoe - are you the owner of the C152? If not, how exactly do you 'have the use of it'? I understand that it's OK to test someone in an aircraft which they own, but anyone else must use one which has a Public Transport (Passenger) C of A? The C152 you're referring to does, I presume?
Also, make sure that it has the level of equipment needed for your test as explained in the PPL Skill Test 'Guidance for Aplicants' Standards Document....

BEagle,
Thanks for your advice. The C152 does have all the right bits and a C of A. It's a club aircraft from not too faraway from EGLS.
I'm trying to avoid joining another club in order to use their aircraft just for a test that I could do on the one that I already fly.

Derek Davidson (who used to run Airbourne at Bournemouth, but has now retired) is a CAA Examiner and still teaches. I'm sure that he may be able to help. His Tel No is 01202 775821 / 0783 517428; he still advertises in Pilot Magazine and says that he specialises in completions. He's a very laid back kind of guy but will tell you when you're getting it wrong (I've known him for around 5 years since finishing my PPL in the UK and flying in his club).
Email me if you need more info.

Gijoe, never heard from you but I am around mid to late MArch and mid April.
Sorry for not being able to reply, but away with work for a week. And EGLS for that matter!
If you have someone else lined up, fine.
