Four seat aircraft at sleap EGCV
Anyone here a member at Sleap (Shropshire Aero Club) had a letter this morning about the future of its four seat aircraft, wondered if anyone had any views on the subject.
It seems to me there’s a great deal of concern about the number of accidents and the general treatment of the clubs nicer aircraft.
Personal I like SP mainly because it fairly new and shiny, also has nice toys!

I'm not a member at Sleap but am considering membership in the spring because I work at Telford in the week. If I joined, I'd be wanting to rent 4 seaters in the summer evenings.
What does the letter say, basically?
At Barton we have an Archer III with lots of nice toys in it, with a restriction on who may fly it (so many hours on PA28 type or if not, approved on basis of hours & types flown) which is primarily imposed by the insurers. This also ensures that it is avialble for extended use (ie taking away on trips) as it doesnt get booked up solid with training flights.
It seems to fare quite well compared to the Warriors, which are getting pretty worn out generally - but that more because they are used continuously during the day, mainly for training.

Unfortunately not been up in SP as it was damaged before I could sort a check out on it.I quite like the Archers, but having said that SP must be one of the cheapest 172`s in the country.. .I was paying more than that for a 20 yr old model with no toys at my last club.
