Popham sounds good to me, but please get a good briefing if you havn't been there before. Landings on 26 and 03 are interesting, and check your take-off performance carefully if on 21.. .Otherwise White Waltham is OK. Nice long runways and a much larger clubhouse. I'm game for either, but the more notice the better as I need to arrange rosters etc.

Sounds like fun!. .I'll be doing some hour-building in South Africa (I follow the Whirlybird approach to holidays!), between May 11 and June 3, but anytime outside those dates would be OK.. .I'll be coming down from Blackpool or Liverpool, most likely in a C172, Cherokee 140 or a Warrior, so there should be 2 or 3 seats spare - I also do enroute pick-ups (as long as my landing fees are covered! ), so by all means get in touch if your in the North West or vaguely along the route.

Sounds good, just a short hop for me in the Archer from, well I guess you should be able to work out where from!

Will keep watching this thread and hope to fit it in the Diary.

Cheers

(currently on a financially-induced Winter layoff, but hopefully back in the groove in the Spring)

Could we please avoid 8th June, as that's the date of the Project Propeller day at Kemble

If you don't know about Project Propeller, have a look at http://www.projectpropeller.co.uk/. .and join in

Not an XL, it's an oldish Southdown Raven, same engine as the XL but a more sporty wing - handles the inevitable rotor on approach to 26 at Popham better too.

Popham sounds fine - though if you choose 19 May I'll be attending the Grace Spitfire Annual Gathering at Duxford instead.

Well, to start the ball rolling, I propose Saturday 1st June, at Popham. Any seconders or alternative ideas?

Well, I'll leave it to the rest of you to agree a date and if I can make it I will. Popham has my vote and as it is not particularly challenging from EGLK I will happily make a detour to pick up 1/2 from another nearby field. All subject to my Arrow being free!

I'll put that in my diaryhere (say it quickly). Weather & tech status permitting I shall bring my parasol down from the wet and windy north.(as long as no other b*gger has booked it on that day). I need an adventure.

DOC.400 - Popham is no good for a training XC as it's unlicensed but I should have my PPL by 1st of June if I can find two reasonable days for the QXC and skills test - assuming I don't screw up and need to do one or both of them again!

But I must admit I'm looking forward to navigating while inverted in FNG's Cap 10... I think...!

Drat looks like I will have to drive then as I doubt the people at the CAA will have allowed me to solo by then. Somehow I think I will have finished the course bar the 10 hours solo bit and passed all the exams bar the skills test by then.

Probably room for one in a helicopter from Halfpenny Green, though I'm not good at planning things that much in advance.

Sorry I've been offline for a while - new machine been 'interesting' to get going.

Can make early June, but avoid the week before the Malta Rally (29/6-3/7) please, and should have space for one or two in an arrer from White Waltham
