Unhappy Future of Aviation

The govt is working on its aviation white paper, including an airports policy for the next 30 years. They've published a consultation paper, "The Future of Aviation", one section of which relates to GA, and are inviting comments.

This is a good opportunity to state the case for GA, and in particular highlight the way that, in the hands of the local authorities, our airfield infrastructure is suffering the death of a thousand cuts.

If you feel inclined to submit your comments we have a summary of the key issues at http://www.airfields.org.uk and the GAAC has posted a detailed response on their web site (news at http://www.gaac.co.uk).

Deadline for responses is 12/04/01
