Question Chinook LOW over Twickenham today

I saw a chinook at about 14:30 in Twickenham, low and slow ain't in it!

It descended over the grounds of Kneller Hall (army school of music) to about 5-6 ft, but no-one got in or out. This is about 100 yards from my house

It then turned in the hover directly towards my house and (just) clearing the trees, passed overhead at less than 100 ft. on its way south.

Bear in mind that the approach to 27L at LHR, 4 miles away, passes almost overhead Kneller hall, his clearance must have been interesting - "cleared to Kneller Hall for touch and go, not above 200 feet"!

Cool

Anyone else see it or know what was going on?

I am curious to know what it was doing!

I saw a chinook at 2000ft over the Thames Estuary South West of Southend at 14:14 hrs.
He flew North over Essex and then heading Southwest over Brentwood at about 1500ft at 14:23hrs. (I was at 1800ft when he passed behind me).
I know the times because my passenger video taped it and it shows the time.

Then it flew into the city and landed at the HAC ground. (I have an office on the 34th floor and one can see directly into the ground so when I returned to the office I was told that I had missed it land.)

Eton college is near there isn't it? Perhaps Customs and Excise were delivering Prince Harry's latest Canabis stash and got a bit lost?
