Flaps - a new aviation podcast.
A flying mate and myself have started a free non-commercial podcast aimed at the GA/private flying community (but hopefully it will be of interest to anyone who flies!)
We've got the first one finished and think it sounds pretty good. It features PPL holder and former MP Lembit Opik, Eric Moody of ash cloud fame, former airline pilot and RAF squadron leader Pablo Mason, the Vulcan at Wellesbourne, and something we can all relate to: a chap who's just started flying lessons. We're as interested in the people who fly as we are in their aircraft.
It's at www.flapspodcast.com (scroll down to "The podcasts") and it's also on iTunes (search podcasts for Flaps). I'm happy to answer any questions or take any opinions here. It's half an hour long and we're going to produce one monthly.
Let me know what you think. And listen out for the deliberate mistake.

There's a problem with iTunes at the moment and they've taken us off because of "technical problems", for which I can only apologise. I've resubmitted the podcast so it should appear there at some point.
In the meantime you can listen through the player on our site or download it as an MP3: Flaps Podcast – July 2010

Ok - we're back on iTunes... search the store for Flaps Podcast. It should even work in Australia!
Feel free to rate us too... Anyway, episode 2 is out in a week or so - we recorded it tonight. The best way to know when it's out is to sign up for the mailing list at www.flapspodcast.com (it's at the right of any page).

Flaps Podcast - August
Right, the second episode of Flaps is out now.
In this one we have a fairly lengthy interview with Peter Burkill. You may well know that Peter was the captain of the BA 777 that crashed at Heathrow in January 2008. He's since left BA and you'll hear how this has affected him and his family.
We have another Mason's Minute from Pablo Mason: proof you should never doubt someone who says his son is in the RAF! And we catch up with student pilot Karl, our pet PPL.
Hopefully it will be as well-received as was the first. It's on iTunes and at http://www.flapspodcast.com
Cheers
Mark.
