Cool Best Bang per Buck!

As one pilot to another looking for fun, what is your Best Bang per Buck?

I am looking for some interesting flying at an affordable rate and so thought I would start this thread. Please post your financial experiences of flying INTERESTING aircraft only.

Mine is:
Ex-military jet flying at 120 quid per hour.

Hmmm

I think he's trying to sell shares in his JP again. He does this fairly regularly.

Cool

Ivechenko, such scepticism, are you a flying instructor or something?
I am seriously looking for different forms or flying such as microlighting, autogyros, Yaks etc.etc. and wondered of the costs associated .

I'm booked in to do powered parachute training. If you're totally bored with the hazy flat view from 39000 feet why not try...... 39 feet

I am looking forward to this!

Exclamation

German Glider Clubs sometimes charge as little as $2.50 per hour for a Ka 8 glider (fuel included!).

Reimers - that sounds like very good value given the drastic recent rises in glider fuel prices!

Flexwing. £3k for a reasonable second hand 2-seater and about £20/hr to run. Don't get very far very fast but tremendous fun with the ability to land anywhere and visibility that you won't beat in anything but a parachute.

Genghis
Super piccy, I ought to know where it is but can't quite place it. Is it Loch Laggan?
Rattus

PS Best bang per buck? Low level in the Highlands!

I can see spots in that picture that I could land a flexwing, not much else though. 100m of flattish wet sand next to the shore would do. It's the walk out that's the bugger.

Rattus, would it be rude to suggest that you clicked "properties" and saw that the files is called "laggan.jpg"?

Thumbs up

Genghis
No, I looked at the map and the SMC District Guide and made an educated guess. I'm not very good at this computer malarkey. What's "Properties"?

Okay, I'll believe you, millions wouldn't.

Very seriously, if there's a better way of spending a weeks leave than island hopping around the Hebrides in a flexwing, it's probably immoral.
