SkyDemon Mobile
I used a friend's Airbox Aware the other day and found it useful. Prompted me to think about this type of device and was wondering if any of you would be kind enough to offer (to someone with a VERY limited understanding of computery stuff - me; and not a big budget - also me) some advice regarding the SkyDemon Mobile software. I tried out the free trial PC version last year and loved it, and would like the mobile version airborne, preferably with routes etc. copied from my PC-planned PLOG. I also would really appreciate advice (without getting too technical, please, if that's possible) on what is the best hardware to use this software with? (Take-home-able from rented aircraft, most of which don't have cigarette lighters, is of prime importance).
Many thanks.

I used it last year on a Asus P320 (costs about £125) when it was in the beta phase, and found it to be an excellent program.
the Asus ran it perfectly satisfactorily, even though it is a very slow device, when its just running one program that's already loaded it is fine. The battery life on the Asus is also good, fine for any possible light aircraft application. If you are tightly constrained by budget the Asus is good, but I would go for something more powerful and reliable if you can afford it.
I flew from the Isle of Man to Southampton and back (5 hour round trip) with the device on all the way. No real loss of battery charge and it never lost GPS contact once.
