Price of AVGAS at Stornoway

Good evening one and all,

Is anyone here able to post the current price for AVGAS at Stornoway please? Will be in the area next week and will need a refuel, so trying to decide whether to do so at Stornoway, Oban or Kirkwall (I have the prices for the other 2 airfields).

Cheers chaps.

Avgas in the north

Try Andy Bruce at Far North Aviation (Wick) 01955 602201, always a good service.

Last Monday 14th June it was £1.7635 + VAT
Same at Kirkwall.

Both guys were very helpful.

Oban is even more helpful and about 7p a litre cheaper - take some biscuits and say 'hi' to Paul

Progress Consulting - AVGAS in the UK varies from field to field. Roughly GBP2.00 a litre but increasing more or less daily. UKGA.COM has a list supplied by members but it is way out of date.

The original post asked for the Avgas price in SYY, you send them to Wick? Hmmmm

Wick's not a particularly stupid suggestion, as if the original poster does intend to go to Kirkwall then his trackwill take him directly over or at least close to Wick airfield. Also to the OP, dont know if you have already considered it but there is also Inverness APT but Im not sure what the AVGAS current price is. Surely by now a website must exist somewhere for this?

Not sure what your reply meant.

I fly in the Highlands regularly, I live here. And I still am not sure why you would send our friend to Wick when he asked for SYY price and intimated he was going to KOI and Oban. Is it cheaper? No.

Yeah Oban is cheaper at the moment. Shame as the guys in SYY first class and never helpful enough. Mind you so are Oban.

I'm flying to Manchester this weekend. I will fly close to Perth. Fuel is more expensive there. Should I stop there for fuel on the way folks?

I personally would not go to Wick unneccesarily either unless it was cheaper or he specifically wanted to go there for some reason, or it suited his weight and balance plans etc etc.

But the point is nobody had pointed out which of these is currently the cheapest, and it was not necessary insinuate that someone was daft for suggesting Wick as a potential refuelling venue, since the OP indicates his interest in Kirkwall as a possibility. Presumably he is going to be hopping about a bit and any help anyone can offer I'm sure will be welcomeAlso if heading for Kirkwall, Wick will be his diversion.

So forget this handbags at dawn nonsense
