Post Tellytubbies (yes, seriously)!!

My five year old daughter and I spent about half an hour yesterday flying around the pleasant Warwickshire countryside looking for the place where the BBC film the Tellytubbies. I'm told it is a large field somewhere between Long Marston and Statford disused and is clearly visible from the air, with lots of flowers, their house and a windmill but our search was fruitless much to her annoyance! Can anyone offer any further information as to it's exact location?....or do we all take our flying far too seriously these days!
When I explained that Daddy couldn't find Tellytubbyland, she announced that she wanted to go up in the clouds instead. I duly obliged and we made our way home at F060 messing around in the 'tops', with an SRA to land....my most memorable Father's Day yet!!

Good for you.

I frst took my daughter flying when she was five and she loved it. The last time she refused to let me go upside down and now she's eleven and more interested in Steps and S Club 7.

C'est la vie.

Cool

Hey Aerostar2

Now I've figured it out - its your daughter that has been doing all that formation flying in the 52 from the back seat ! Making you look good too she has. She clearly won't fly with you anymore 'cos you've shunned the 2-seater these days!

Apparently it's in Wimpstone, about 2nm south of Stratford.
I think I might go and have a look myself this weekend as I'm based just down the road at Turweston. Right before getting a life.

Yeah of course you're right Southern Cross.

Had to move to a single seater and do it on my own when she announced that close formation aerobatics no longer represented a challenge for her and she wanted to do something "a bit more grown up".

Daughters eh...who needs 'em?

Anyway, let's give matspart his thread back!

Cheers

matspart3: Yeah, yeah yeah... Sure, it's your little girl who wanted to see Tellytubbyland and not you of course. I have heard that one before you know so coming from you, I am a little disappointed.
Members of your staff have told me about times when you asked to do an after hours arrival for no apparent reason. Except you have been spotted wearing some strangely Tellytubby resembling outfit

See you on Sat !!!

Thanks for the info, judging by my road atlas I was slighly too far west. If you find it on Sunday pop into Gloucester on your way back to Turweston, tea's on me!...I'll be the one in the purple fluffy suit with a coat hangar on my head!

We flew over Tellytubbieland today coming back from Bidford to North Weald - it is very close to Long Marston. Follow the runway out to the west and there's a farm with a large grain silo. Its in a corner of a field adjacent to the farmyard. There's a load of portacabins and other temporary buildings and this strange astroturf covered mound. (I always like to take a turn around it at 1,000 feet, just in case they're filming!)
