Blimey, crate finally escapes clutches of fiendish engineers and Heathrow TAF is liberally sprinkled with nines, 8 knot winds, that sort of thing. Better go and test-fly the jalopy. Supposed to be at client-schmoozy drinks later, but they'll just have to schmooze themselves.

I got my first solo landaway in today (2nd attempt, got lost the first time and returned back to base). Lovely clear vis, maybe a bit bumpy. My arrival at Blackbushe was not as smooth as I liked, almost got charged for about 4 landing fees ;-). Overall, a nice day to do it in. :-). .. .Simon

I've just checked my favourite weather web-site & it looks set fair for the weekend. We may be in luck, but keep it quiet in case the weather gods are listening.. .. .So who is going where? I'm not too sure, but I think I'll take a 152 & a friend from Southend to Lydd on saturday morning.. .. . This is a good weather site, it seems to give accurate forecasts. . . . . [ 27 March 2002, 08:43: Message edited by: Who has control? ]

Self employment is the answer. Went AWOL yesterday afternoon. Tempted to test out new transponder by quick overflight of that large airfield a bit east of Waltham, but thought better of it and went for random barrel rolling west of Reading. I could get used to this flying lark.

Reading this while sitting in my office in Kazakhstan doesn't make me jealous, honest . .. .Maybe I'll go and nick one of the AN-2's out at the airport. At least 2 of the 10 seem to have the full complement of wings, wheels and propeller blades . .. .Never mind, home for 28 days as of 17th April. Bet it pours down and/or the annual inspection insn't finished and/or mice are nesting in the wings. I am an optimist really . . . . [ 27 March 2002, 13:50: Message edited by: LowNSlow ]

If you’re one of those lucky barstewards you enjoying the pleasures of White Waltham today – I’ve been watching you enviously from my office in Thames Valley Park. It must be fun mixing in below the arrivals to LHR in beautiful weather.. .. .Hopefully my turn tomorrow back up north – if the weather holds!
