When you connect the splitter from Aircraft Spruce or Skygeeks as mentioned above you get both the incoming and outgoing transmissions plus the in cockpit chat. You can connect the recording connection direct to a camcorder with a separate mic socket or a voice recorder.

does anybody know a good usb like voice recorder I can use? I dont have a good cam at the moment and thus I would just record the chatter for now.
Which of all the connectors/ splitters is the right one for a C152? I guess it needs to go to a 3.5mm plug to be universal?

Recorder and Y splitter
Hi Screetch.
I record my podcasts using an Olympus Digital Voice Recorder:
Olympus DS-55 Digital Voice Recorder: Amazon.co.uk: Electronics & Photo
You can listen to the later podcast recordings, done with this recorder, here:
Flying Podcast
The Y splitter I mentioned earlier, from Aircraft Spruce, works fine with David Clark headsets:
HEADSET ADAPTERS AND EXTENSIONS from Aircraft Spruce

Hi
so you bought this one:
Dual Headset Y Adapter
This heavy duty adapter converts one .25” phone jack into two. Perfect for those who want to connect two headphones to one a/c radio headphone jack. Can be used with stereo or mono headphones and jacks. Length: 2 ft.
P/N 11-10610 $27.90
That bassically enables you to link out the speaker audio which you then use as an input to the recorder?
I looked at the olympus, but mine is more available and cheaper? I wondered if I shoul buy this one or just save more money and buy a cheap hd camcorder to record the video as well?

hey guys, just re-opeing this one, as im in the usa and have managed to pick up this!
Tested it out breifly today and the camera only picks up quet muffling. Im pretty sure i have the correct wire now, i think my problem is my digital camera. After all i have have it a couple of years. So im asking what digital camera's/video recorders you guys n gals have and if they work when doing this sort of thing. If you have one of these could you give me a link to somewhere where i could buy it/read up on it. Dont want to buy it then find it cant do the job. I have seen one that im told will do the job in america but i want to see what you use that does it too so i can compare prices, etc.
Thanks!
