QXC Completed Today!
Hi All, just wanted to say thanks to the people at Bourn and Enstone who made me coffee and were so helpful during my QXC today as part of my NPPL (SLMG) course.

Well done,I reckoned that was the hardest part of the course, apart from landing.
Actually QXC was the scariest, all alone, and needing to find an airfield miles away that I'd never been to before.
Got there in the end.
Good luck with the skills test

Ah Yes -- Finding the airport
People put airports in the funniest places. The grass strips do blend in. In fact I've flown near a few strips that I know are close by, but haven't yet spotted them
A number of glider pilots have landed in a field, only to notice aircraft using a nearby runway. This generally is cause for great amusement from the retrieve crew

Congratulations! I remember doing my QXC nearly (10yrs ago..!) as a great day and the highlight of the whole course: great sense of achievement, for me more than first solo in a lot of ways!
Well done mate!
