Eshott
Has anyone flown to or out of Eshott, near Morpeth, Northumberland? Also, is there a reason why it does not an ICAO code?

we were in there a couple of years back. When we arrived it was "windier than forecast" and we were met on the runway by a "follow me" vehicle which lead us right up to the hangar doors. We were pushed indoors as soon as the prop stopped turning. This saved the embarrassment of blowing over/away before tie downs could be employed. Our hosts could not have been more helpful, they rang up and arranged overnight accommodation in the nearby village and lent us a vehicle to get there in. The following day it was socked in so we borrowed the vehicle to go into Alnwick for a look around.
11 out of 10 for hospitality.
Do check on their operating hours, I think that they have a strict 7pm curfew and possibly a silence until after breakfast in their rules.

Designators
Crosland Moor (Huddersfield) used to have the code EGND.
The airfield has never been licensed but I'd think EGND dates back to when David Brown Tractors (who owned the airfield up to 1973) used to own a Riley Dove for their corporate operation.
We often got mis-addressed flight plans for EGNO (Warton) from the nice man at NATS (or whatever it was before that) telling us a Hercules or other heavy metal would be inbound.....

Eshott has two runways, both tarmac. Keep your eyes peeled for microlights..... If you can't find it, find cocquet island, then Acklington Prison, and Eshott is about 4 miles inland... Good bunch of people up there.
