As we are in Europe, we can register an aircraft in any European country. As the rules should be the same, there is still a diffenerce how the authorities treat the owners. Especially IFR certified planes are not easy in some countries.
I am looking for experiences of owners in different European countries. Especially with the handling of owner maintenance of private used single and multi engine piston aircraft.
I got the impression, in some countries general aviation airplanes are welcome, in others not...
Please post any good or bad experience and recommendation....
Thanks for your help

Have a look at this thread for the French reaction to EASA and part M.

A time will come when EASA promted by the EU will want a European register of aircraft.
I predicted this last year and murmurings from BRU and CGN have done nothing to dispel my beliefs.
I even suggested a format, subject to ICAO agreement:
E = Europe
xxxxx = numbers allocated either in sequence or by payment
aa, bb, cc etc = suffix to denote region. eg NO, FI SW for Scandis
SP. PO, FR, IT for the Med etc etc. How that effects the Manx register I don't know. My last a/c would be E5778GB.
Sir George Cayly
ps my first a/c should have been G-AAAA but I'll settle for E1GB
