Awaiting PPL license from Gatwick

Iv recently passed my PPL and just wonderd how long people have waited in the past for the licence to arrive??

I noticed my recorded delivery took a week to reach London from Liverpool wich doesnt help and i cant bare the wait, the only plus point is that during this time the weather has been rubish anyway so it was good timing i suppose :-)

Mine was 6 weeks if i remember correctly. I was so eager that I asked them to call me the day it was ready and I drove down from London just to pick it up!

Mine took two weeks to be issued. In typical CAA fasion the recipt for the payment came through in a matter of days.

I've been waiting two weeks now for my night rating, I think that by the time it arrives night flying will be over at my airfield!

Mine was returned quite quickly (2-3 weeks?) - this was back in October.

I was quite surprised as the Royal Mail Special Delivery tracking number was still coming up with the "It's on its way. - Your item is progressing through our network for delivery."

According to Royal Fail, my logbook and forms are apparently still on their way to Gatwick.

The bottom of this page shows where they are up to, but it isn't always updated regularly

Personnel Licensing | Safety Regulation

I passed Feb last year and it took 3 weeks exactly from test to license arriving.

I've been waiting 8 weeks for transfer of JAA state license. Granted, this takes a little bit longer, still, I called them today to check. They just received word and now the process starts.

-How long will it take?
-Don't know.
-Could it be up to 8 weeks from now?
-It could be.

So if all goes as it will in Murphy's world, we're looking at 16 weeks waiting.

If you have a day spare they do a counter service.

The counter service is only for ratings, you can drop in a licence application for a 10 day turnaround but thats the minimum, at least thats what the guy on the counter told me.
