Salvador, Bahia, Brasil - Aeroclube

Hoping that someone can help, I've struggled with Google but am looking for some up to date info:

Am trying to elicit whether the Aeroclube at Bahia does GA rental.

If it does, what would I need to do to my UK/JAA licence to validate me to fly in-country?

What a/c types are available (MEP/SEP)?

General availability in May?

Is the Brasillian AIP on line? Are there any good on-line GA guides for strips? (Portugese or English)

Thanks in anticipation: my "destination" is a 10hr drive away from Salvador.

I have no knowledge of Bahia but I did about 8 hours on Microlights in Rio. Language is a big problem in Brasil but my understanding was I could get a microlight licence but not a SEP licence because I would need to pass an exam, perhaps air law, in Portugese. The microlights I flew were Tecnams and Funk FK9s. Both comparable with C150s. The club I flew with was Ceu clube Esportivo at Barra.
I have never been made more welcome at a flying club than at Ceu, and the flying was magnificent too!

Oldpilot - I grew up in Brasil e posso falar a lingua!

Perhaps this would be better moved to the Latin American forum - BRL can you assist?

Thanks

Another post about flying in Brazil. There seems to be a lot of that going around. I've got an e-mail address for you for the Brazilian authority. Check your e-mails.

All sorted - the aeroclube and the parachute club share the same premises. Have received mail from them and will pursue.

Thanks,

Ciao!
