"low cost" PPL training in Europe

Hi,

I am looking for the best European country to get an affordable JAR FCL (EASA) PPL. The balance between cost and quality must be reasonable. I am not only looking at the price of the lessons but medical, license issue, landing fees etc as well, so the total package. I do have around 200 hours SEP from before 2001 but (national, pre JAR FCL) licence expired.

I am prepared to travel a bit through Europe and stay longer in one place to do the training but again the balance between cost and effort must be reasonable.

I could not find much useful info on internet, any suggestions?

Many thanks for your help!

Your license has expired but your logged hours have not. All you need is to take a short refresher course and the exams, which may not warrant the hassle of travelling to another country.
