Europa XS monowheel
Having fairly recently converted to the monowheel gear so that I could test fly the XS motorglider (which I'm in the middle of at the moment), I agree totally with what MJ has just said.

I did 50hrs over two years in my mono wheel. Great little aeroplane but a handful on Tarmac OR in a crosswind. Both together and you knew you were going to be on your toes until you were at walking speed. Take off was fine as long as you didn't lift the tail until 40-45kts.
Ours had the VP prop though I flew it with a CS prop when the fitted one was damaged in a landing incident (not the usual Europa pirouette) and it was most unpleasant compared to the CS.
A tri gear with a good avionics fit will be a very good proposition for touring when the LAA allow IMC in permit aircraft.
It's just under a year since I left the syndicate (the owner was moving away) and I've missed it more than I thought I would...
