Yes, Oban/North Connel is the closest I'm aware of, but Fort William is about an hour's drive away.

I can vouch that Etive Taxis, 01631 566880 "Distance no object, 24 hours by appointment, 6 seater available" will cheerfully turn up to the airfield. Quite what the fare for Fort William and back would be, I don't know.

It'll be expensive - Connel to Port Appin cost £55 return a few months ago. And that's about half the distance.

Alternative may be Inverness, hire a car and around 60 miles drive.

If you need accommodation book it PDQ - Fort William usually fills up well in advance for this event. Also consider if you will need a car. Whilst you will have to take the bus up to the event itself, what about the rest of your stay?

I'd go for Oban. Easier to get to in the event of an overcast. Shouldnt be a problem getting a hire car as there are several local companies.

If you are taking your bikes why don't you land at Oban, save the cab fare and cycle up to Ft William?

Very very nice PH-UKU! Would love to have a play in that someday...
It's a big ambition to get up to the West Coast in the 172 I fly soon.
But has it got one of these fitted?

Looks like the perfect answer to jxc's transport needs

Not sure the wx will play ball tho' this weekend.
