Calcot

Landed out there in my glider a few years ago. Finally tracked down the strip's owners (correctly identified above) at the wonderfully named Crickley Barrow farm and received a very warm welcome. Spent the hours waiting for my crew to arrive watching the final afternoon's session in the second Ashes test whilst gorging on tea and biscuits. Glider pilot heaven, although England never did knock down the final Aussie wicket !

Blast from the past...

Took my first ever flight from there with Mr. Colburn at the controls. Was a reward to the Northleach Boy Scouts for walking the grass picking up stones just after he prepared the strip.

Thats a name from the past! Is this the place a blue Citabria used to operate out of about 20 years ago? I can't remember the guys name, any suggestions?

I think I used to do circuits there in a Bellanca Scout and can not find my relevant logbook. If the strip is still up and running a trip for old times sake may be on the cards.
