Flying to south France

Hi all,
A group of friends and myself are planning to fly to the south of France in the summer months and I was wondering if anyone had been down that way or could suggest some nice places to visit or stop-over en route. Any info would be appreciated.

Safe flying

Last time I went down there I went around the top of Paris and down to Troyes to refuel. Then on to Montelimar, which was about 2 1/2 hours if I remember correctly. Good trip.
