I've been in several group-ownership syndicates, and they all have the policy "newest member cleans the underside of the plane". I find that's a good way of keeping a bit warmer and dryer when washing the plane in cold weather. Provided you're not the newest member, of course.

Been there, done that, had the cold dirty water dripping in my face. However, for us once the newest member has done it once, they cease to be new and we take turns.
