TotalBeginner,

I have 'lifted' your photo to use as background on laptop. It is a really nice photograph. Is there any chance you could provide a link to a higher res version please?

Cheers

TotalBeginner; Do you mind me asking where the photo in post No.2 is.
Of course not, it's the town of Clare in suffolk.

Thank-you, you're very kind! :

Is it a HDR picture (dark/middle/low overlaps) ?
No, it's not an HDR. I used a graduated filter (clear plastic that is shaded at the top) to reduce the exposure on the sky.

Is it for your desktop wallpaper? If you let me know the resolution of your display I can e-mail you one to fit that size.

Bushfiva

Cant pinpoint it with co-ordinates but to within a mile or so It was South-West of Newby Village near Shap,Cumbria. The road off to the right leads to the A6 and passes over M6 before intersecting with the A6.The photo is facing the south west.

Hope this helps

Barshifter, the field of interest is at 54deg 34'27" N, 2deg38'39"W, but Google Earth shows nothing. What a shame, it looked interesting.

Yes, probably somewhere north of Eastbourne or something like that, about 4000ft.

Today was a beautiful day, went out from Doncaster to Sherburn via the Humber Bridge and along the coast towards Flamborough. The snow covered fields were quite beautiful. Against my original fears, navigation actually seemed easier, as features seemed to stand out better against the white background. Throroughly enjoyed it, and will put some photos up later :-)
