Aerial Photography

Interesting.....

The Mrs and I have just bought a photo of our house from a "man at the door". We made our cheque payable to Skytrax Aviation Limited.

Subsequently, I have found this thread which seems to suggest that we were dealing with a local[ish] company.

However, the guy at the door said that his company was a stranger to the area - as he was up from Devon. His explanation was that when his company is out taking professional photos, they sometimes have time to do a few private houses at the same time.

The guy said that the photo was taken last August (and that fits with what we can see in the back garden). He also said that he thinks they were in a helicopter at the time.

Now, the photo is excellent, so no regrets there. However, there seems to be several potential versions of the truth! I'm intrigued to know..... Anyone able to shed any light?

Thanks

Nick Locke

Skytrax uses Cessna singles taking masses of pics of homes, literally flying street by street, village by village etc. Sales teams then knock the doors.

You should always tell them you don't want it. Its no good to them so you take it off their hands for half the price! You are in a bargaining position they are not.

Good advice Whopity, although a bit late for us!

That said, the price did seem to compare well with (eg) Getmapping for what was on offer.
