What you're probably missing is that the ANO requires aircraft logs to be CAA approved, and for light GA aircraft they have only approved paper ones. Various airlines do have the sort of thing that you're describing, but they're specifically approved by the CAA for that airline, and in any case anything suitable for, say, an A320 is going to be rather OTT for a GA aircraft.

Of course, there's nothing to stop you doing something yourself - so long as the key points of aircraft logs are copied into CAP398 and CAP 399 logbooks, and you can do anything you like with your personal logbook so long as you keep the minimum information required by the ANO.
