how many solo hours in PPL?
can someone refresh my memory, how many solo hours do you need to have and how many of those need to be in circuit/cross country etc?

HI LIam, i believe its min 10 hrs solo, in total so this can be made up in any form. Ie, not a certain amount doing x country. That is measured in distance and not in time.

It's 10 minimum in total, you need a minimum of 5 hours cross country and 3 (I think!) in the circuit. The other 2 can be either or.

Oh. I forgot. Yes the qualifying cross country is measured in distance. The minimum distance I think is 150nm.

Minimum solo
You must have logged a minimum of 10 hours PIC (solo) of which at least 5 hours must be cross-country navigation (ex18 solo). the remaining 5 hours are not defined although you would normally have acrued at least 4 hours solo in the circuit (14, 12/13)
The JAR Qualifiing Cross-country is indeed a minimum of 150nm but the flight time spent undertaking that, is part of the 5 hours solo cross-country minima.
