Solent Vs BFC - advice please

I'm currently considering options for cracking the the PPL either here in the UK or abroad. If I'm to do it here then Bournemouth Airport is most convenient for me. Does anyone have any experience of Bournemouth Flying Club or Solent School of Flying? Which one would you recommend? Cheers.

I know two people who have recently, successfully completed PPL's at Solent. Both complained about poor organisation and missing lessons because of silly serviceability issues which could easily have been dealt with. One used at least four different types of aeroplane for his course, some of them diesel. Having said that, they have both stayed with them since qualifying although one of them has no choice as they are the only helicopter school in the area.

Personally, I would use BFC every time.

BFC seemed good for me when I did my PPL there (as a RN Flying Scholarship).

But it was ~1981, so maybe the people and validity of my advice has moved on

yes things have moved on a tad (is a 'tad' a real measurement of any sort?)

27 years ago the Universe was different!
