Met exam
I was hoping to get MET out of the way this week. Ive read the little red book twice and got quite good at the questions in the back. I started on confuser tonight though and am obviously not as ready for it as id hoped.
Are there any other learning materials out there that will supplement the book, DVD roms DVDs etc that you have used that might help a little?

The Oxford OATMedia Aviation Meteorology DVD is fantastic: The ATPL version (although on the face of it too much for PPL) gives a sound understanding of the entire subject, and is great for 'reading round' the subject as well as a future reference volume.
It doesn't take too much skill to determine what's not needed for PPL (Hurricane formation in the Caribbean f'rinstance) but it'll be there and ready for when you do your CPL/ATPL. Thoroughly good buy IMHO, nicely divided up into easily digestible sections with their own test questions and explanations if you get the answer wrong and excellent graphics.
I personally think you can never have too much Met knowledge...........
If this seems too much, they do a PPL DVD but as I haven't seen it I can't vouch for its quality, tho' I should imagine it's equally good.

Hi LIam.dont know where you are training but a club such as sherburn where i am a member do run nightschool classes for all exam subjects.I found that rather than just reading from a text book. an instructor explaining a subject to me was far easier to absorb, and if you aint sure, just ask!!

Going over the confuser lots I would say was the main thing after reading the book a couple of times. It gets you used to the 'b' questions and also the format of the questions they'll ask.
Found pilots weather by Brian Cosgrove quite a good book to help with some parts.

yeah Im at Sherburn too. Ive ordered the ppl dvd rom by oatmedia PPL Meteorology (PC): Amazon.co.uk: Software
ill have a play with that when it arrives and read the book again then tackle the confuser.
Its difficult finding time to put aside! My lesson at sherburn today was cancelled so re booked for next wed @ 0930. Considering making it a double session to get circuits cracked.
