I need MANUAL for LYCOMING 360 series engine..
Hello to all BUSH PILOTS from Turkey, from Anatolia..
I am a STUDENT AIRCRAFT MECHANIC (Frame and Engine) in my country at university. I am so interested in General Aviation, at level being crazyy Especially being in command of a glider or a C 172 makes me the happiest people in the world for a while
Anyway, one of my teachers Mr.Ogultarhan, who is a well experienced BUSH PILOT also, made me to search manuals for LYCOMING 360 SERIES ENGINES..
Our aim is reaching information about using FUEL which isn't avgas in this engine series.For example using AUTOMOBILE FUEL ın LYCOMING 360 ENGINE?
In Turkey we have some airfields that we can not find avgas, and also we are needing your helps about this issue..
By the way I heard, in some conditions like our, we can use AUTOMOBILE FUEL with ADDING SOME CHEMICAL FLUIDS ın the fuel tank,
For example WHICH FLUIDS should be add to AUTOMOBILE FUEL to use in LYCOMING 360 ENGINE?
If you inform me about these issues ı will be so so happy..

This company can provide a vast amount of information on Mogas use.

Lycoming manuals are extremely unlikely to provide any information on Mogas use, as it is not Lycoming's company policy to promote Mogas use in their engines.
There is lots of experience out there on this subject. Generally, if there is an STC (Peterson, for one source) for the airframe and engine you are enquiring about, good quality Mogas, which meets the quality standards of the STC, will run in the aircraft very well, with no changes. If the engine (maybe injected) or the airframe (maybe low wing) are not listing as having an STC available, it just will not work, and should not be attempted. Operate in accordance with an STC, there are many unsafe situations associated with using fuel in an unapproved way.
A very good book to seek would be "Furture Fuels for General Aviation" by Ceazar Gonzolas,
ASTM International - Future Fuels for General Aviation - STP1048
published by ASTM. It will not give you the authority to operate an aircraft on Mogas, but will explain in complete detail everything you have to know to do it safely.
I have more than 3500 hours flying on Mogas, with never a problem. In some cases, it is actually better for the long term life of the engine than Avgas.
