Starting a microlight school. Planning?

Hi,

If someone wanted to start a microlight training school on a farmers field (a big field) , that is enclsed would he need planning permission?

Ive been told something about a 28 day rule which obviously wouldnt be enough as there would be more than 28 take offs and landings.

BMAA have a guide on this, albeit possibly a little out of date, it's worth contacting the Deddington office and asking.

The responsible authorities would be your local planning authority, and the CAA - who delegate most of their responsibilities in microlight training to the BMAA.

The PFA/LAA wouldn't have any interest, and don't even have any interest in trying to merge with / take over the BMAA any more.

I should start with the BMAA since, unlike your local planning authority, they'll start from the point of view that microlight schools are a good thing.
