Question Charts for Eastern Europe

I'm planning to fly down through Italy, then down the Adriatic coast (Croatia), across Greece to Rhodes in a couple of weeks (then back the same way).

What VFR chart options do I have? I'm trying to avoid paying a fortune for half-mil coverage for a one-off trip!

I have 2 moving map GPS in the aircraft, but I am keen to have paper about as well!

Ideas? Thanks, Sam.

Hi Damian,

That's great, thanks! Anytime this week is good for me - what are your movements? Reply by email?

Er, any help/advice for Greece still appreciated!

Thanks, Sam.

I've got same as above (Northern Italy, Slovenia, Croatia), plus Hungary, Germany and probably Switzerland--all Jepps from last year, which I'll be happy to post to you if you want them.

Sam

Why not carry on to Romania?

I have some (MOD issued) maps for you.

VFR flying in Romania is legal providing you ve obtained prior ok from Romanian CAA (located next to Baneasa Airport at Buch) as wel as filed a flight plan.

pm me if you want more info

thanks guys, that's all great!

I have also since heard that Greek flying is done on the TPCs, which I already have.

Thanks again, Sam.

PS anyone needing map coverage shouldn't hesitate to contact me, so that I can return the favour if possible!
